The reason why The Meek have not yet manage to inherit the earth, as we keep being told they're bound to do, is probably because they're all to busy being tied up in whimsically downbeat indie bands.
Take GoodBooks, for example. Take Leni for example. Better or worse than ruling the world? Who can say. What we can say that it's, initially pretty dull and lifeless, but then, somehow, it sort of worms it's way into your affection, like any number of digestive disorders.
Leaving something which is definitely OK, and quite possibly good, in a strange kind of way. Particularly the end, where everything goes a bit nuts and it it sounds like Bloc Party doing laps around the rest of the indie proletariat. So a slow start, a decent denouement, but on the basis of this, hardly Booker prize winners.
