Green Man Says Go are the latest indie trio out of Yorkshire. Their sound is fun, energetic, and danceable. The latter evidenced in the opening bars of Las Vegas with its bombastic, dirty bassline, high tempo, and pop sensibilities.
The disjointed rhythms and sexy airtight drums of Dancefloor, however, are compelling, and evidence a pop know-how that, though it will not win any awards, is quite charming in its shamelessness.
It’s all fairly contrived and sceney, and the Foals influence is quickly discernable, but Green Man Says Go have just enough ideas, fun, and fundamental talent about them to pull them out the other side of a scathing attack on a blatant lack of originality and make them a band to keep a close eye on. Just.
