There is not a grey cloud hanging over this song. It has a charm and warmth all of its own that even a rainy day could not spoil, largely because it is a wonderfully melodic piece of classic pop with dulcet harmonies and a smooth texture.

This is the debut single from the Prague-based singer / songwriter / musician familiar for his work (as a writing buddy and live band member) with Julian Lennon. The recording took part in London and is immaculately produced by the legendary Bob Rose. That'll Be The Day is a near perfect pop-rock single and its B-side Medication is a beautifully composed piano based tune that displays Darling's catching, harmonic vocals. Imagine a young Billy Joel or Elton John and you'll get the hand crafted picture.

Gregory Darling has obvious talent and is well acquainted with pop's better musicians, taking influences from The Beatles and The Animals to more contemporary stars like David Gray (but not nearly as depressing). Definitely a winner.
