For Guillemots, following up their last release Trains To Brazil was never going to be an easy task. After all, it was one of the finest singles of 2005 - joyous, infectious and incredibly uplifting, it was a tantalising taster of what might come from this band over the next 12 months and beyond.
But they've done so in some style, as We're Here is just as magnificent as its predecessor. Where Trains... was upbeat and sounded like something you might expect to hear during a soccer match in Rio, this is a calmer, more serene affair - but no less captivating as a result.
It's a swooning, string-drenched piece that totally engulfs the listener for its four minute duration. Fyfe Dangerfield's singing is once again the main attraction: here his tones are so soft and delicate they could probably cut glass, whilst his lyrics are as life affirming as ever - "We're just seconds in a day", he declares, alluding to the sheer size of the world around us, and in doing so allowing us to truly put things into perspective. If they keep up this quality on their forthcoming album, it will be something quite astounding.
