Daryl Hall and John Oates are names that most of our parents haven't heard in a long while, and more to the point, most of this generation's young teenie-bobbers haven't heard at all. The dusty duo have been on the Philly soul scene since the release of their first hit single back in 1974.

However, its been a rocky ride since the '80s - Hall and Oates have continuously been releasing albums, but not selling as many as they would desire. By the looks of things, this new single is a sharp surprise attack on an unsuspecting ageing audience.

The overall sound of I Can Dream About You sticks to the pair's traditional soul sound with an array of strong hooks accompanied by the duo. It's a decent comeback song for the 70's veteran's, but whether or not the two song writers will regain commercial recognition this decade will be another matter entirely.
