Admit it, your heart sank at the prospect of another Happy Mondays reunion didn't it? For a band who were one of the defining figures of the early '90s, previous attempts to reunite Shaun Ryder, Bez and company had resulted in rather sad moments like the lacklustre cover version of The Boys Are Back In Town.
So it's with trepidation that we approach Jellybean, only to be pleasantly surprised. This is a return to the dirty, sleazy funk that made the Mondays name with Shaun sounding like Satan himself as he leers over typically nonsensical lyrics such as "now that I am naked I'm a lady" and "it's good to press my tits against the floor"
In an age where baggy-lite contenders such as Kasabian and The Twang are lauded, it's good to have the masters back on form. "I've made some mistakes, man" mutters Shaun as the song finishes - maybe so Shaun, but we forgive you.
