This off-centre piece of randomness is the first track from the electro-rock-pop ensemble's forthcoming second album. Don't bother looking for it in the shops as they're going down the Gnarls Barkley route, and all the tracks are only being released downloads before the album hits as a CD.
The intro is an eclectic squalling slice of mayhem that certainly grabs your attention with its drums and screaming. Just when you think you've got it figured out the guitars and lyrics kick you realise this song is an absolute gem. It has a raw, almost unfinished, edge to it but that's all part of the allure.
It's strangely infectious - it will be on a loop inside your head and if you're not humming it as well then you're either seriously preoccupied or dead. Although if you're in the office then it's probably best not to sing along, as lyrics like "I'm gonna spill my seed all over the world" may raise a few eyebrows.
Trying to draw comparisons or provide labels is problematic, primarily as the band have gone out of their way to prevent it. So the only thing to really say is that considering the cost of a download these days it's well worth it. If you like things a little more electro, then go for the Headland vs Agent Sumo remix.
