Bless The Hedrons. So keen are they to be the journo's friend that promo copies of their single have been sent out with a little Hedrons badge stapled to the top corner. As if you needed an actual way of keeping these shouty, adorable Glaswegian pop-punkettes close to your heart.
The Hedrons are indeed completely fantastic. Their lead singer is called Tippi (geddit?), they have a drummer called Soup, and they make the music the Ramones would have made if they had all been 17-year-old girls raised entirely on Slits B-sides rather than gormless-looking New Yorkers. If this is the sound of things to come from their debut album, One More Won't Kill Us - due out in the autumn - they've got a huge amount to offer.
Just enough, in fact, to make up for the fact that while they're generous enough with their little lapel buttons, they didn't give away any of their B-sides. But I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and decide those will probably be brilliant too. Guess I should follow their coded message to myspace and find out, eh?
