Herbaliser's latest album Take London is on its way, and is given a
sneak preview by this short playing release. The track features more MCs
than you could legally fit into a Mini, and yet manages to leave the way
clear for a rushing string figure, tremolos punctuating the action.
The raps are entertaining - each MC finding themselves a recognizable
voice - but despite the brave recording of a radio version, it seems
inevitable the track will only get airplay at night, thanks chiefly to
vocal snatches like; "I get a gun in my happy meal," not to mention
references to putting razorblades in apples. The tongue is firmly in the
cheek here though, it would seem.
It's a distinctive track, and a sign that the Herbaliser remains
in good form.
