There should be a gig review to go with this, but I missed Hiem at The End. Missed their previous gig in London, too, courtesy of a bout of pneumonia. So I still haven't seen Bozz, Nicco, Nicky and Bob (the latter two moonlighting with The Human League) live. It must be quite an experience, if the first two singles - and the reports - are anything to go by.

New release She's The One is "a bit of an Italo stomper" to quote vocalist Bozz's own words, with a throbbing electro intro that sounds as if it might grow up to be the new Dr Who theme and a simple but effective twisted vocal line.

It's good, but the 12-minute epic Mathew Jonson remix is something else again. Slowed down, spaced out, warped in all the right places, constantly shape-shifting - it gives a whole new slant to techno. Pure class: manager Russell (Pulp) Senior knows what he's doing with this bunch.
