Organic electrogeeks Hot Chip celebrate their Mercury nomination with the third single from The Warning, and Colours is one of the album's woozier numbers.

Birds cheep over the layers of smile-inducing vocal harmonies and twinkly synths that together make up a track that is the aural equivalent of drinking one of those overpriced but terribly nice chilled Innocent fruit drinks.

The album version is accompanied by the original mix, which if anything is even simpler in its construction and arrangement, and a so-chilled-it's-freezing DFA Remix. For those seeking another floor-filling monster like Over And Over this may all come as a little too laid back, but anyone liking their electronica with a human touch should be charmed.
