It's fair to say that Ian Brown's last track release Illegal Attacks split opinion rather. The problem was his all too obvious railings against war and its effects, rather crassly depicted in tandem with Sinead O'Connor.

Sister Rose puts all that to rights, atop a F.E.A.R.-like loping groove. Brown sounds up for it, and his assertion that "she led me by the hand and took me to the promised land" is just part of an uplifting lyric.

Doubters may well consider his most recent album release after all, which the former Stone Roses frontman is promoting on the road. It's likely Sister Rose will be one of the best received tracks, as its overall sentiments and danceable beats fit Brown's distinctive voice like a glove.
