If you still haven't yet discovered iLiKETRAiNS, it's about time you did. Like the beautiful lovechild of Nick Cave and Sigur Ros, they'll drift across your stereo like a bat that swooped into your bedroom and nicked your last but one E when you weren't looking.
Described in the past as 'library rock' (Britain's best post-rock band would be more accurate) not only are their low, sonorous soundscapes beautiful on the ear, they are usually rooted in some historical tale or other. In this case, it's the Salem Witch Hunts.
Brushed percussion, plucked strings and David Martin's haunting vocals, this is music to soundtrack beautiful ghost stories, music to conjure up landscapes that wouldn't be out of place in a Joy Division video directed by Tim Burton. If that's not enough, in More Weight they also manage to offer up a B-side that not only complements the lead track but completes it. Ignore them at your peril.
