"From Paris To Berlin and every disco I get in, my heart is pumping for love." Learn these words. Should you hear them emanating from your car stereo, be quick to change the channel. It could save your sanity.
Infernal are the latest in a long line of European pop bands that make pop records that are more addictive than crack. Pete Doherty would be well advised to put down his pipe and pick up an Infernal single - it's probably healthier. Althoughb to be fairb the long term affects of From Paris To Berlin are as yet unknown.
What can I tell you about this single that you can't already guess for yourselves? Not too much really. All the elements you'd expect are present: the synth bass undulating and squelching away behind a drum beat that anyone with a basic grounding in 2Unlimited or Aqua will know; a sassy vocal line that is part Smurf, part Shirley Bassey; and the obligatory catchy chorus. So catchy, in fact, that if this single were found tucked under the wing of a dead French swan, the scenes of pandemonium in this country would be unthinkable. It's perfect pop, it made it from Paris to Berlin, and now it is here. You should probably be afraid.
