InMe - Faster The Chase (Music For Nations)
UK release date: 24 May 2004
InMe - Faster The Chase
After several releases from the 2003 Overgrown Eden album, InMe grace our eardrums once again with the first single off their second album. By now, those who've heard what InMe have to offer either love or hate it, resulting in extremes of sell-out Astoria-sized gigs to reviews that label singer/guitarist Dave's vocals as "unbearably whiny".

Faster the Chase is bound to conjure up a similar effect, but after taking a six-month break from public attention InMe have grown significantly. The opening Silverchair-like riff is enough to make even the hardest of haters succumb to the trio's talent. As the chorus sets in, so does a Creed-like sound that, combined with a positive lyrical attitude ("You are my ecstasy"), reveals InMe's growth out of teenage angst.

What really blows me away on this record, though, is the harmonising. Singer Dave and bassist Joe combine their vocals to create blissful harmonies that add a symphonic quality to the harsh, metallic alt-rock. The three pubescent boys from Essex have matured and are now ready to compete with the big guns of British rock. Welcome back, lads.
