Iron Maiden - Rainmaker (EMI)
release date: 24 November 2003

Iron Maiden - Rainmaker

A marked return to form for the men who were living metal legends before Fred Durst had his first tattoo. Rainmaker is far from an original piece of songwriting, but who wants a dog to learn new tricks when it can take the Crufts trophy year after year, jumping through the same hoops?

Opening with a lead lick that sums up the existence for bands like In Flames within all of five seconds, Rainmaker is classic Maiden. Driving power chords steam their way through a verse laced with searching questions into a chorus thats only fault is that it wasn't recorded with the whole arena screaming along in unison.

With a new world tour fast approaching, expect this track to be a set highlight, slipped in somewhere between The Evil That Men Do and Fear Of The Dark.
