Jack Peņate has steadily been building a growing army of fans in the last few months, helped in no small way by the huge amount of festivals he's played.
Debut single Second Minute Or Hour is re-released in September - here's what we had to say about the single on first listen last year...
Spiky guitars and pop-punk energy in debut single from 22-year-old Londoner who's already got the live circuit sorted.
Jack Penate's first proper release has a massive advantage behind it: its energetic guitars and rockabilly tendencies transport this reviewer back to the gloriously sunny summer days of Bestival, this year's best festival by MILES, and the lil' Lostandsound stage, where wandering music scribes could get distracted by worthy newbies en route from the Peacock Press Lounge to the black clad lads of the Jack Daniels tent. Young Mr Penate was well worth a stop and a listen and a note to look out for him in future.
And here he is, with a single full of sarf-London vowels, lyrical witticisms ("I lost my head/when I found my heart") and catchy hooks ("sheeeee never wanted me") and a contacts book that already includes Babyshambles & Friends.
Fun, punky, with a great guitar solo at the end and fantastic promise for the future. Catch him on tour with the Maccabees and keep your eyes peeled for an album some time next year.
