We've become quite used to bands from Iceland being ethereal, otherworldly and all those other adjectives that make music critics write words like "sonic cathedrals". So, Jakobinarina - following in the steps of Sigur Ros and Mum, we take it?
Erm, no. The six-piece from Hafnarfjordur are loud, noisy and shouty, with 'hilarious' titles such as His Lyrics Are Disastrous and Nice Guys Don't Play Good Music. It speeds along at top volume, lead singer Gunnar Bergmann has the accented vocals off pat and it's got a palpable sense of energy about it.
Yet it's no different to a hundred other groups with guitars - you'll hear it a few times, nod along and then completely forget it even exists. And are their lyrics disastrous? Hard to tell really, as the only lyrics that can be made out are "let's leave this island for good". Well, don't let us stop you...
