If your surname is Pants, then you have to be pretty sure the music you make isn't going to match. And Texan James is determined that, through playing drums, keyboards and guitars, as well as singing, he'll be well above that verdict.

He can rest easy. The bass line acts like a slowed-down version of Stevie Wonder's Best Of My Love, yet the essence is an electric form of 1980s soul. Not too much goes on up top with the vocals - it's best to describe them as a subtle addition - but it's on the dancefloor this track will be doing its damage.

It's easy to see how this could fit in with the current penchant for a bit of Scandinavian slow electronic disco, and though it might be on the slow side, a shimmy or two is the endearing result of three minutes with Mr Pants.
