The cult of Jamie T has been building for a while now, after some ecstatically received limited edition singles, support slots with the likes of The Kooks and Mystery Jets and a storming remix of Kids With Guns by Gorillaz doing the rounds. In fact, he's one of those names that's just achingly trendy to drop right now.
So is he really that good? To be honest, he's even better than you would imagine. Sheila is incredibly fresh, frighteningly addictive and as catchy as the common cold. It grabs you right from the start with the attention grabbing line "Sheila goes out with her mate Stella, it gets poured all over her fella", to the samples of screams and poetry reading lurking in the background. It's also a song that will appeal to everyone from hip-hop fans to indie kids. Basically, it's going to be absolutely huge.
In a word then, brilliant and fully deserving of all the hype that's recently been generated about the 20 year old Wimbledon singer so far. It's safe to say that the rest of 2006, together with his mate Lily Allen, belongs to Jamie T.
