Some songs just skip along and steal your heart before you've even noticed they're there. New York singer/songwriter Jaymay has a whole host of them up her sleeve, such as this swooningly lovely little number.
Whispy, folky and fragile, Gray Or Blue perfectly describes the flush of first love with lines such as "I can't stop staring at your mouth without wondering how it tastes". The instrumentation is also perfect, with a xylophone neatly appearing just as the line "I'm struggling with the xylophone to make these feelings sound".
If there's any more proof needed of how people just tend to fall in love with this song, a search on YouTube reveals it to be the subject of that rather baffling modern phenomena where people video themselves staring into a webcam while earnestly lip-synching the lyrics. Each to their own obviously, but you aren't going to hear a better version than this one.
