Jentina - Bad Ass Strippa (Virgin)
release date: 21 June 2004
Jentina - Bad Ass Strippa

The debut single from 19-year old Jentina, Bad Ass Strippa oozes self-confidence and enough attitude to knock over a small building. Mixed by legendary New York producer Jimmy Douglas and using a sample of the O'Jays For the Love of Money, Jentina's very English vocals are merged with dirty American hip-hop beats.

Written by Jentina herself, Bad Ass Strippa is a case of a gorgeous girl knowing that she's IT. Lyrics like, "They all want to phone me, get to know me" add to the every day conversational poetry employed throughout the song. Stating that she won't "take no shit from nobody", Jentina proves to be independent and fully in control of her music, something not often seen in the commercial side of the music industry.

Although slightly tedious by the end (despite only being 2 minutes and 50 seconds long), this debut from developing hip hop star Jentina is strong enough to provide a stepping stone for her future, which upon hearing Bad Ass Strippa is set to be huge.
