Jeremy Warmsley's debut album The Art Of Fiction was one of those low-key gems that not many people got to hear, but those who did absolutely adored it. Lose My Cool is the first taster from the upcoming follow-up and it looks like it's going to similarly captivate.

One part singer/songwriter, one part electronica experimentation, it's one of those songs that sounds almost too 'busy' at first. There's a languid piano chord introducing the song, then incongruously heavy drums kick in, before Warmsley's fragile, almost nasal voice floats in, with lots of odd, Aphex Twin-style effects bubbling away underneath.

That's all before the chorus explodes into life like a Nirvana classic, almost heaving with angst-ridden lust. Then we're back to the nervy verse before a terrific middle-eight which comes from out of nowhere. Another cap in the feather for Transgressive, rapidly becoming the most eclectic record label out there.
