Jermaine Dupri hasn't had much to do recently with the likes of Bow Wow being not so lil' and graduating from the J.D academy, where lessons in buying jewellery and what to say when the MTV Cribs cameras come round are timetabled. Although having never been to that particular educational establishment I can neither confirm or deny the above.
So, with a bit of spare time on his hands he must have realised that behind all the bling he has a talent for rapping and production. A talent displayed in Gotta Getcha; with a lush bass line masterfully coupled with the vocals of Johnta Austin. It isn't trying to be a lyrical masterpiece - guy has to get girl. It's candyfloss hip-hop.
Now that Mr Dupri is paired up with Janet "Wardrobe Malfunction" Jackson it seems he might just fancy a prolonged stint in the limelight. Churning out harmless and happy tracks like Gotta Getcha is as good a way of keeping the hip-hop/r'n'b world's attention as any.
