This title track from Jessica's upcoming new album, and follow-up single to her hideous cover of These Boots are Made for Walking, is dubbed by her PR people as a "party anthem of a single". Which it was. In America. Last Summer.
The fact that they thought that a shameless sample/rip-off of Madonna's seminal '80s hit Holiday is going to storm the UK charts in January leaves the mind reeling. As does the track itself, which is so sugary you can almost feel your teeth rot whilst you listen to it.
She obviously has a reasonable voice, but this does nothing to show it off. The performance is breathy and uninspiring, and the track itself seems to be nothing more than bits of familiar hits bolted together, even down to a mid-way giggle that just screams Mariah Carey.
With a video that's been viewed over half a million time on YouTube there's evidently a market for this lady. Whether or not it's for her music is debatable. This is disposable bubble-gum pop for tweenage US mall-rats at its worst.
