This attractive EP of folk-tinged pop and electronica has surely one of the best lyrics of this or any year. It's the opening to Eanie Meany, where Noir sings "if you don't give my football back I'm gonna get my dad on you". Images of that mighty volley crashing onto the neighbour's car, resulting in the mother of all rows - happy days indeed...
...and the package continues just as endearingly, the style a lightly textured pop but not lightweight in content. Tower Of Love goes to the fairground with a macabre waltz, while the raindrops backing I Can't See are beneath a twee '60s evocation.
The softly chanted refrain of Eanie Meany 2 brings the short quintet of songs to a close, hugely enjoyable and rewarding in their quiet madness.
