JJ72? Not the "WHY! WON'T! IT! SNOW! LIKE! THEY! SAID! IT! WOULD!" JJ72? Not the voice-like-a-chipmunk JJ72? Well yes, that JJ72. They're back, and you know what? They sound pretty much exactly the same.

Same hushed-verse-into-soaring chorus. Same desire to paint themselves as doomed poets of the human condition. Same indifferent outcome. The chorus never gets anywhere, remaining firmly earthbound despite all manner of sinew-stretching vocal exertions and a liberal sprinkling of keys, and they also miss out the air of tortured romance they seek.

Because while "I'd murder men for you", is fine in the great tradition of grand gestures in the name of love, when sung by someone who sounds like Alvin (or Simon or Theodore) it loses a little impact. Similarly, "I'd dig a grave for you" misses romantic by some margin, landing squarely in the region of this has been fun, but I think we should see other people. Especially when it's followed by, "Let's make it a grave for two..." Uh, right. Yeah. Well, I'm gonna go. You take care of yourself... Weirdo...
