The follow up to the Crosses single, Hand on Your Heart is a cover of the old Kylie Minogue '80s number. Gonzalez has stripped away all the electro-pop and associated accoutrements and what is left is a piece of audio delight. It's soothing and tranquil and it's probably the first time I've heard these lyrics and actually listened to them. It reminds you somewhat of the late Eva Cassidy.

Listening to this you can understand why his last album Veneer went platinum. However, there is downside with this type of song. When you hear it you think movie soundtrack. It's playing in the background of a romantic comedy while a young woman walks through a park in the rain. It's what your parents have on in the background at a dinner party.

That's the whole idea with this genre though. This single isn't designed to go Top 10 and to be honest it will be a surprise if it goes Top 40. This is a taste of what is to come, this screams Buy The Album louder than any piece of pointless fluffy pop ever manages to. Besides, La Minogue herself has apparently heard this and approved so how can we possibly disagree.
