Somehow, for some reason, Junior Boys are not famous yet. Their debut LP, Last Exit was a pure delight - glitter ball house, classy pop and melancholy ennui delivered with aplomb. There were shades of Underworld under big open skies but it seemed to sink without trace. Thankfully, someone at Domino was listening hard and the band are now about to release their second LP. In The Morning is the lead track.

It starts off like the younger brother of The Source's You’ve Got The Love. Clipped sparkling synth notes and a dirty bassline that slashes like a neon blade, then the vocals arrive. They are fragile and a little bit hot under the collar. This is disco romance stalked by self doubt.

It's Prince from way back in the day if he had stolen New Order’s gloomy electronic keyboard settings. There are shades of modern R&B thrown in for good measure. You can tell that the Canadian duo have one foot on the dance floor and the other in the library.
