Some songs are just guaranteed to polarise opinion, and this latest release from the Californian singer/songwriter is definitely one of them. It's been getting monumental amounts of airplay in the US, but its bi-curiosity theme has got the religious brigade in a real tizz.
From our perspective there's absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of pseudo-Sapphic warbling, especially if it's well put together and extremely catchy. Cathy Dennis has had a hand in this track, which goes a long way to explaining its success. On the down side it does sound a trifle manufactured, in a Dragonette meets Rachel Stevens kind of way.
It's a love it or hate it track if ever there was one, but tt's going to be an absolute smash. So get ready to hear it to ad nauseam on the radio, watch girls have a faux-fumble on the dancefloor and endure endless references to cherry chapstick.
