It's hard to believe it was little over 12 months ago that Keane were being tipped as one of the bands to watch over 2004 - since then they've become a regular fixture on radio playlists and the album charts and seem to have divided the public between those who love them and those who find them a bit too dull.
By now, you'll know the Keane formula - a piano, Tom Chaplin's choirboy vocals and a blissfully uplifting chorus. All are present and correct here, in this re-release of their early Fierce Panda single. To these ears they've never quite matched the sumptuous heights of Somewhere Only We Know but this is still a fine display of the boys' talent.
Their critics may deride them as music for bedwetters or Coldplay-lite, but the last laugh is on Keane - this fourth single from Hopes And Fears will surely replicate the success of its predecessors and it fully deserves to.
