Keisha White is an 18 year old Londoner who's main claim to fame at the moment is singing the theme tune to BBC kids programme Tracy Beaker. Not a promising start you may think, but this single indicates that she could well fulfill all the 'new voice of British soul' tags that are coming her way.
Don't Care Who Knows is as silky smooth as they come, laying down a soulful, laid back vibe over which White's great voice is shown off to its best potential. There's no Mariah Carey-style histrionics, just a wonderfully warm and rich vocal that suits the song perfectly. Lyrically, it follows an argument between White and a boyfriend who's been cheating on her, played here by US rapper Cassidy.
It's an impressive single from someone who you'll no doubt be hearing a lot more from this year - one word of warning though lads, don't use Cassidy's excuses if you get into a similar argument ("I don't speak to these freaks after we sleep together") - a well aimed flying ornament is the least you could expect...
