Twenty-seven years into their career and Killing Joke show no sign of letting up whatsoever. It would appear that there's no chance of them mellowing out and taking a nice chilled out ambient direction for some time yet.

Hosannas... is a brutal chunk of industrial metal. Utterly unrelenting, it charges off like a demented herd of bison as soon as the laser in your CD player locates the start of the track. Jaz Coleman's voice sounds torn to shreds as he bellows his way through the pounding chaos of the track. You can almost imagine him gargling with concrete prior to laying the vocal down, just to give it that extra edge.

Elsewhere guitars shimmer and brutalise in equal measure in a Big Black meets Revolting Cocks kind of way. New boy Ben Calvert's drums hammer the song through the ground propelling it closer and closer to Hell, the very place that Killing Joke probably recorded this formidable slab of mayhem. An awesome song, and one that shows exactly why Killing Joke are so revered.
