The Kills have been the unlikely subject of tabloid rumour recently as guitarist Jamie Hince aka Hotel has been recently romantically linked with Kate Moss. Bearing in mind that it was precisely the moment that Pete Doherty got together with Ms Moss that marked his creative decline, should Kills fans be worried?
Well, apparently it's all over now, so the speculation is moot. Yet Daily Mirror readers who find themselves curious to check out Kate's new beau will be met with a dark, sleazy sexy duet between Hotel and bandmate VV, the first indication of what forthcoming album midnight Boom may sound like. There's less of a blues influence here, as it's strangely reminiscent of Tricky and the trip-hop era.
VV and Hotel sing a line each as the music stalks menacingly in the background, punctuated by jabs of electro-noise, handclaps, and telephone noises. It's exhilarating, sassy and rather terrific. Welcome back.
