I suppose it was inevitable that after the release of Golden Skans one of the Klaxons' early singles would see a reissue, and sure enough the ensemble piece Gravity's Rainbow steps up to the mark.

The lyrics smack of late 1980s Manchester - no surprise there then - and the imploring line "come with me, we'll travel to infinity" sounds like it should be taking place over a euphoric piano breakdown, ready for a rat-a-tat of snares to take it out of sight. What we get instead is a sharply pointed bass riff that sounds like it was nicked from the Arctic Monkeys when they weren't looking.

It's an energetic track for sure, and the psychedelic whooshes of sound are occasionally thrilling, but intentionally or not, this plays right into the 'nu rave' corner - and to me at least, doesn't have the same uplifting effect as the old model.
