On the cover Kristian Leontiou looks a bit like a Hellenic Justin Timberlake. Also with his skatepunk gear and mouth piercing, you'd be forgiven for thinking his second single, Shining, might be in the vein of Avril Lavigne.

Not so for this Brit-Cypriot 22-year-old. Here we have an emotional pop song infused with urban drum beats and orchestral violins. His soulful voice is similar to Will Young's but not as accomplished.

Albeit sensitive and reflective, Shining is a Smash Hits kind of track that would appeal to teens. Unfortunately, this is perhaps reflected in some of the publications that have most recently featured Mr Leontiou, namely that great musical tome, The Funday Times.
