Yes, the rapper look-a-like with a voice as smooth as Golden Syrup is back. This time with single number three from his debut album, Some Day Soon.
By now, we know what to expect from Mr. Leontiou - a heartfelt song with a Dido-esque melody so catchy that it sticks in your head like super-strength glue after just one listen. Some Say is no different. The lyrics are soulful but, during the chorus, unclear: "Some say, confront your fears" sounding remarkably like "Some say, the French I'll fear". (A weird Freudian slip? Nah. Pass the ear cleaners.)
Some Say is a nice portion of pop pie with inklings of David Gray and Damien Rice, though with slightly less poignancy. If you're thinking about forking out for the album, Some Say will probably sway you. No doubt it will be scrawled on many a teenage Christmas list. And who can blame them?
