After a series of home recordings and EPs, KunK blasts off quickly with We're Not Who You Think We Are.

The band's self-touted influences of The Pixies and The Queens Of The Stone Age come out rather nicely on their single. The dissonant, distorted opening riff sounds like something right out of Joey Santiago's bag of tricks, and the fully grunge chorus could well have been produced by Josh Homme. However, the bits in between don't hold up as well as they could have.

A virtual shouting match on parts of the track add a feeling of chaos and insanity, but a strangely melodic chorus line backed by chirping background vocals dispels the magic. The song also suffers from a lack of diversity with the main riff being repeated for the bridge section and the chorus being run into the ground.

KunK show off a pretty good recorded song, but could tweak the arrangement a bit to find their own ideas amongst the influences they've gathered from older bands.
