Lambchop's Kurt Wagner has a voice uncannily like that of Bob Dylan and his songwriting isn't a million miles away from the great man either.
Is A Woman starts as a delicate, hushed affair and somehow manages to transcend its Nashville roots to become a reggae song, insisting that you start to tap toes despite its tender quietness.
The rest of the release features two leftfield remixes of Is A Woman, with the Alpha remix taking the dreamlike foundations of the song and whisking them gracefully off in an ever-so-slightly dancey manner. The Maxwell Implosion remix takes on a jazz quality, managing to make Wagner sound like a cross between Omar and Robert Palmer. The video for the track also appears, as does a remix of The New Cobweb Summer, also taken from current album Is A Woman.
