Lari White has been slowly building up a name for herself in her native United States for nigh on 10 years now. She's long been tipped as one of the leading lights of country music, but don't come to Nothing But Love expecting a Dolly Parton imitator.
This single starts off dark and mysterious before gliding smoothly into an introduction that sounds for all the world like Texas. White's voice is smooth and strong, and rather than the country leanings that she's associated with, this is pure Al Green style soul music.
In truth, it gets rather repetitive towards the end, but this is pleasant, undemanding listening that will probably reap dividends from the so-called "Radio Two effect". The country die-hards won't be impressed, but this is perfect to clear a hangover on a lazy Sunday morning.
