Now unless you've been buried in a hole 23 miles outside of Minsk for the last couple of months, it's likely that you'll be au fait with Twickenham's Larrikin Love. You know, forerunners of the so-called 'Thamesbeat' movement, incisive lyricists and purveyors of decidedly reggae influenced, carnival spirited punk rock.
Indeed, they've used this unique formula to forge themselves a reputation as Britain's most exciting new band, and this, Happy As Annie, is the latest single to be lifted off their forthcoming - and long awaited - LP, The Freedom Spark.
A re-recorded, polished and re-packaged version of an early demo release, it's lost none of its original spark amidst the new production - if anything it sounds fuller, ballsier and more vital and than ever before.
Fully adorned with pleasing sounds emanating from banjos and fiddles, as well as some suitably sharp guitar riffs and a tantalising drum loop, it's jerky, jaunty and with a chorus that makes you jump up and down involuntarily, downright brilliant. It looks set to become their calling card; their big gun that will see them rise up the echelons of public popularity, which all in all, is simply fantastic news.
