'Sonic collaborators' are a strange phenomenon, mysterious creatures who so often die lonely deaths when left alone with their ideas. Leander though seem to have that rare something that says they could emerge and gain a whole lot of empathy for themselves.

Leander are two Berlin brothers who've recently remixed Au Revoir Simone, and their own sound moves with a little of that sleepy, teary electronic grace that the Brooklyners evoke.

Hide And Sleep is fantastically grand, buzzing to bleeps that thud in the background with the tenderness of heartbeats, underplayed strings soaring wilfully like clipped butterflies while Lars weaves some wistful lyrical lines. It's a sound redolent of intricacy and romance, and if they can sustain it over a whole album, the forthcoming Pass Fail will be a winter beauty.
