Lemon Jelly - Stay With You (Impotent Fury)
UK release date: 22 November 2004
Lemon Jelly - Stay With You

With the recent horror stories in the press about the disturbing side-effects of anti-depressants such as Prozac and Seroxat, surely it's time for the medical profession to start exploring other avenues. The Government could do a lot worse than to ensure that Lemon Jelly is readily available on NHS prescription.

Like the best of The Jelly's output, Stay With You is a tune guaranteed to put a smile on the face of the most miserable of souls. The bouncy, Daft Punk-esque rhythm that unfolds throughout the song is utterly delightful and the unusual choice of sample in Gallagher & Lyle's I Wanna Stay With You underpins the chorus masterfully.

The two other tracks are in a similar vein - samples from both Badfinger and The Stranglers meld perfectly with Lemon Jelly's unique brand of chillout dance. No new boundaries are broken for long-term fans, but this is a band doing what they do best and sounding blissfully wonderful while doing so.
