The Derby quartet heavily indebted to The Eels, but without the death-obsessive qualities serve up a slice of inoffensive quirk-pop that worms its way into your eardrums, then bangs them to pieces with its sneaky little melodies and oddness.

Laced with sugary melodies and the kind of plinky-plonky idiocy that will either repel or put the spring in your step and sounding instantly familiar with shades of classic eighties pop, Leon truly do sound older than their years. Essentially a bit of light romantic fluff with a stalker-ish twist suggesting they'd "look so good in your underwear". Ho hum.

B-side All I Wanted is the flipside of emotion being a darker proposition with see-sawing vocals spinning around a gloomy roundabout of cello and piano. Light and shade, candy pop and tooth rot, Leon have 'em both, and with their knack for a nagging tune and squiffy lyrics they could go far.
