Do we like The Like? Do we love The Like? Do we loathe The Like? Or do we think The Like are just a bit, 'meh'. The last single, What I Say And What I Mean, definitely sat mostly in the first and even a touch in the second, but June Gloom is, unfortunately, rooted in the 'meh'.

At their best, they sound a bit like Elastica. At their worst they sound much like Sleeper, and thus amply demonstrate the thinness of the line 'betwixt good and 'meh'. So easy going and so determined to soothe, June Gloom's motto probably reads "Came, saw, tidied up for a bit and then left quietly without banging the door and waking the neighbours". Veni, vidi, yaaaawn.

Positives? Well, lead singer Z does have a lovely husky voice that could give a high court judge immoral ideas, and they all look good in smocks. So was the last single a good song from an average band, or is this an average song from a good band? Time will tell. Until it does, 'meh'.
