She was once the sweet little girl in The Parent Trap, but since she's turned 18 she's graduated to tabloid infamy with rumours of bad behaviour and alleged liasions with the likes of Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell.

Now she's decided to become a pop star, and the result isn't the kind of lightweight Britney-esque trash you may expect. Instead, Over is an anthemic guitar-led big rock ballad, sounding not unlike Michelle Branch. Lohan's voice sounds better than you'd expect, and overall it's the kind of song you can imagine playing loud while speeding down some wide American freeway.

The marketplace for female teen rock chicks is pretty crowded at the moment, but on the basis of this song Lohan deserves a place amongst the Avrils and Ashlees of this world.
