Pretty much an unknown quantity outside of his native Australia, Lior is a 28 year singer/songwriter from Sydney who could quite easily fit into that lucrative David Gray market if he were given the right kind of breaks.
It would be easy to hate This Old Love - a simple, acoustic love song which, at first hearing, seems to be cheesy beyond belief - especially with a chorus like "we'll grow old together and this old love will never die". Yet repeated listens reveal a more bittersweet twist to the song, especially with a slightly poignant tone to the words on each verse.
It helps too that the melody is utterly lovely, and if this was over the closing scene of some escapist TV programme such as The OC, you can pretty much guarantee it would be number one for weeks. As it is, this may well escape people's notice this time around, but it could become a rather gorgeous secret for many people.
