As the net casts ever wider in search of past hits
to dress in today's commercial dance clothing, it was
inevitable someone would take a chance on Fleetwood
Mac's Everywhere.
The original is still a radio favourite, perfectly
structured and with the kind of misty eyed chorus that
raises the spirits - all ideal blueprints for a crowd
pleasing remix, you might think.
Not this time though, for the production is much
too formulaic, and, try as she might, Bonnie
Bailey can't quite recapture the wistful vocal of
Christine McVie. It's more likely to work in a
club, I grant you, but won't grace the airwaves to any
extent. In that respect it is an opportunity
missed.
