Good to see the best track from Longview's debut album Mercury released as a single. While peddling the same musical ground as Further, Can't Explain scores highly in subtle use of the piano and a clearer verse/chorus divide, with the lyrics of "waiting for hours, hours turn to days, days turn to years" a memorable hook.
The supporting harmonies give the song a certain grandeur normally associated with Elbow.
If you haven't yet picked up on this band and have a space in your CD collection near Travis or Doves, then give this a try.
