If pub rock had a banner in Manchester, then Loose Canon would be its champions. Not to be confused with Kaiser Saucy and Lord Fader, aka DJ supremists The Loose Cannons who recently graced Glastonbury, these boys have been knocking about since the inception of the legendary "anything goes" nights of Akoustik Anarkhy way back in the last century (1999).
While AA dithered before returning last year, Loose Canon appear to be in a rut. What Comes Next indeed for AA's original noiseniks depends on how, or perhaps more accurately, if they choose to re-invent themselves, as their home has.
Are these vocals intentionally off-key? Are these awkward recyling melodies thought through? Is this ear-grating ramshackle seriously a single (plus a banal b-side)? Oh how high that pub rock banner flies...
